Suzie Q's
A restaurant chain started by Suzanne Quentin, daughter of the WWII hero Mr. Quick. Unlike heroes who fought injustice on the home front, Dr. Cecil B. Quentin had no reservations about going public with his heroic identity after the war. Cecil's powers were granted to him by a formula he accidentally discovered in a laboratory accident in his work for the DoD during the early stages of WWII.
Unfortunately, Dr. Quentin was never able to duplicate this formula and Washington's dream of a platoon of super-speed assault forces never reached fruition. As the war was excalating oversees, Washington had no choice but to take Dr. Quentin out of his lab and draft him into service as Mr. Quick, an operative of The Allied Super Squad, a super-powered strike force led by The Glorious Guardsman.
After the war, however, Dr. Quentin's credibility as a scientist was overshadowed by his reputation as a super-powered war hero. After the war, the peacetime administration decided that Dr. Quentin's research was no longer a priority and his contract with the government was not renewed. Seeking other positions, he found that his job offers as a research scientist usually had more to do with his high-profile image as Mr. Quick rather than his skills as a man of science.
Raised in the limelight of her father's popularity, Suzanne Quentin grew up to capitalize on her father's fame and opened her own restaurant called "Suzie Q's". The high-end restaurant sported memorabilia of her father's war-time career as a hero and, in the early days of the restaurant, her father and his surviving buddies from the Super Squad could sometimes be found eating at the restaurant and signing autographs for their many fans.
Inheriting her father's speed, Suzanne would often entertain the patrons by taking their orders, "preparing" their meals and delivering their meals in the span of a few seconds (her chefs were ordered to keep several orders of the day's specials warmed in the oven at all times). An instant success, it wasn't long before Suzie Q's became a chain of successful restaurants through out North America.
Although now in her fifties, Suzanne doesn't have much to do with the day-to-day operations of her restaurants but spends much of her time touring the country making surprise appearances at her restaurant franchises to keep the fans coming in. Even though her speed isn't what it used to be, she's still fast enough to impress the locals and, after 30 years of practicing her routines, Suzanne has never been more adept at working the crowd and winning over a room full of patrons, encouraging them to be sure to try today's Super Sizzlin' Sauteed Shrimp Special "...it's SUPER!"
Although there's a popular rumor that Suzanne uses her super-speed to travel from restaurant to restaurant, a rumor not dispelled by her corporate public relations, she actually travels in a luxurious personal jet which has become her home away from home.
But home will always be in Vanguard City where she appears every weekend, including holidays, at the local Suzie Q's to welcome the patrons and bring a little bit of larger-than-life spectacle into their lives.
